Meet Alex

I'm Alex, a management consultant with a passion for harnessing the transformative power of AI and analytics. With over two decades of deep technical expertise, I've had the privilege of working across a variety of industries, including engineering, retail, telecommunications, logistics, manufacturing, financial services, and software.

Throughout my journey, I've been fortunate to contribute to significant technological shifts, from the transition to IP networks and the rise of cloud computing (which we fondly referred to as “hosting” back in the early 2000s) to the emergence of SaaS and, most recently, generative AI. I've collaborated with leading Australian companies, helping a major telco and grocer launch their first generative AI use cases. I also founded Provedore, a project that highlights AI's potential to create meaningful content for the community.

One of my proudest achievements is being granted a patent in AI vision while serving as the tech lead for the CPG industry at Salesforce ANZ. This innovation improves the accuracy and efficiency of training vision-based AI models by utilizing video, reducing the training time from eight hours to just 15 seconds while enhancing prediction quality.

Through this blog, I aim to share the insights and lessons I've gathered along the way. My goal is to provide practical, down-to-earth perspectives on AI and modern analytics, making complex topics accessible to everyone.

At Microsoft, I focus on helping enterprise leadership teams navigate the fast-evolving landscape of data and analytics. While I won’t be pushing any products here, I will reference relevant technologies to illustrate practical examples and recommendations that can drive business progress.

Outside of work, I embrace a low-carbon lifestyle, enjoying activities like growing my own fruits and vegetables and supporting my local footy and tennis clubs in Barwon Heads.
